A backyard garden is always associated with peace, relaxation and recreation. However, it will not be a place to rest if you do not arrange it properly. What should you take care of in the garden to make it a sanctuary of carefreeness and an ideal space to spend free time? Check out our suggestions!

Create privacy

An evening with friends or a dinner eaten in the garden pass more pleasantly without prying eyes of neighbors from behind the fence. A fence alone may not be enough if your neighbors don’t respect your private space and often look into your garden. Some sort of divider between your relaxation area and your neighbor’s area will protect you from prying eyes and provide more intimacy. Ivy or other climbing plants that wrap around the fence, a pergola, or wicker palisades are great for this. You must choose the type of divider according to the style of your garden and your preferences. Plants on the fence may prove to be too difficult to maintain as they require proper stand, watering and pruning. Wooden and wicker pergolas, on the other hand, need to be maintained and cared for properly to make them weather and temperature resistant.

Take care of the decor and atmosphere

Without the right décor you can’t talk about the atmosphere in your garden. When decorating your patio or outdoor recreation space, make sure that all the furniture and accessories follow a similar convention. Fortunately, we are now moving away from the plastic garden furniture which was present in every garden in the 1990s and early 2000s. Opt for wood, hammocks or hammock chairs and other natural materials. And don’t forget about the accessories; your outdoor seating area cannot be without textiles, especially pillows and blankets, but also candles in decorative candle holders, table runners, and placemats. Such items, in order not to rust and deteriorate under the influence of weather conditions, must be designed for outdoor use. Outdoor decorations should be carried, in the home and garden section, by a home improvement or garden store.

Arrange the greenery around

In the garden, plants are undoubtedly the most important element. First and foremost, the seating area should be strategically planted with greenery. Choose functional plants, such as those that repel nuisance insects. Any barbecue, even the most successful, can be spoiled by a swarm of mosquitoes. Ticks are not only a nuisance but also dangerous. So avoid dense thickets, especially ferns, where these insects like to hide. Even if mosquito moss, catnip or lavender grows around your patio, it is worth taking extra care to protect against insects. Stock up on insect repellents for mosquitoes, ticks and blackflies as well as coils, incense and candles that will discourage insects from joining the party with their scent. You can buy insect repellents and insect repelling gadgets from Vaco Retail. Their preparations are effective, but at the same time ecological and environmentally friendly

In a few simple steps, you can create the garden of your dreams, where relaxation will always be pleasant. Whether you want to meet friends by the fire or spend a romantic evening with your other half, a private corner in the garden is the perfect place for this.
